RULE OF THE WEEK

Subject: Rule of the Week – Dissent, Foul & Abusive Language, Threatening Behaviour
Dear Members,
Unfortunately we are still seeing too many incidents of dissent and abuse to Referees and Linesmen, so much so that in the past few weeks we have seen Officials including the young lads who run the line say they are no longer prepared to officiate our games.
Each week the Judiciary are dealing with Red Card reports and offenders are receiving lengthy bans.
So, this weeks’ Rule of the Week is the same as 6 weeks ago.
6.3 Dissent and foul language are not tolerated.

6.1.1 First Offence ' 10 minutes off field, (yellow card) or red card depending upon the seriousness and repetitiveness of the offence.

6.1.2 Second Offence ' Send Off ' Referee to note name on team sheet.

Dissent, Foul & Abusive language and Threatening Behaviour (Not just to Refs but opposing players) will not be tolerated.
Before EVERY GAME this week the match Referee will call both teams together in the centre circle to ensure EVERYONE is fully aware of the rule and the penalties which WILL BE ENFORCED VIGOROUSLY.
Team Leaders, remember it is your responsibility to control your players as per Rule 5.1
5.1 Team Leaders are responsible for the conduct of their players and must withdraw any player who is unwilling to play in the intended spirit, fun and fellowship.
Also remember The Registrar is an Official of the Club so please treat Lisa with utmost respect
4.5 The Registrar is deemed to be a paid official the same as a referee. Any abuse or disrespect toward the Registrar will be considered the same as abuse of a referee and the same penalties will apply.
Let’s enjoy competitive football in the spirit & friendship of the Gold Coast Over 35s and move away from this unacceptable behaviour.
