How old do you have to be to play in the competition?
All age groups are based on that the player has to be the required age in that competition year

Can you play for more than one team?
Yes, you can, it is called Dual Signed Player but this option can change at anytime if it prevents players from getting into a team.

Can I play for the over 35 and over 45?
Yes, you can play in both competitions but this option can change at anytime if it prevents players from getting into a team.

What time do the games start?
First game starts at 6:30pm the second at 7:35 pm and last game at 8:40pm

On which days are your games played?
All games are played on Monday or Wednesday but due to insufficient field allocation, the over 45's play on Thursday night.

What is the duration of a game?
30 min each way with 5 min half time

When are your teams training?
Teams don't train but if you feel you need more than one game per week to improve your skill or get more fitness you can become a Book Player or a Dual Signed Player.

What is a Guest Player?
A Guest Player can be a non member of our association or a non-financial member who has not signed up as a player in the previous season (half year).Guest player can only play once (1) for the same team (except non-local players). The playing fees must be paid the second time the person plays for the same team. You may play as a guest a second time provided it is not the same team played previously.

What is a No Team Player?
A No Team Player is a player without a team and can play from the Spare Players Book. Only once a week a No Team Player can be taken first off the 'Spare Player's Book' in the current week. The second time in the same week the player will be in the 'Spare Player's Book' as any other team member. A guest player takes preference over a no-team player in the 'Spare Player's Book'.

What is an Assist Player?
Teams who have not had eleven (11) players signed up can request for an 'Assist Player'. An Assist Player is a person from another team who is available to assist the team every week. The registrar or committee determines whether a player can be an Assist Player. The player has to be a reliable person who is be able to play 2 games per week. The player will only assist the team till the team has eleven (11) players registered. The last player signed up as Assist Player will drop off first. A team using 'Assist Players' can still use 'Guest' and 'Spare Book Players'. An 'Assist Player' does not have to pay any extra fees.

How can I signup for a team?
We emphasise that our main aim is to foster participation and enjoyment of the game and with this in mind we have formed more divisions. Our lower division is mainly for social players who like to enjoy the game for the game's sake. The division above the lower is more for the advanced players and the top division is for the more competitive players. We have two over 45 divisions for the older players. So first we have to know what level you like to play so we can contact the team leaders for that division. Alternatively you can signup as a Guest Player or as a No Team Player.

What are your fees?
Our annual membership for 2006 is $10 and playing fees are $90.00 per competition. We have 2 main competitions per year and the fees are based on the referee costs, electricity for the lights, rates and public liability.

Are players insured while playing?
No, all players participating in the Gold Coast Over 35 Soccer Association Inc. are required to sign an acknowledgement that they are individually and personally responsible for his provision of personal accident insurance to relieve the club of any responsibility whatsoever should the player become injured, unable to work or incapacitated while participating in activities organised by the Gold Coast Over 35's Soccer Club Inc.

How can I become a member?
You can signup as a member on any playing night. We have a yearly membership and a playing fee for each competition. All persons who are players in a Gold Coast Over 35 Soccer team with the exception of guest players must be members of the Gold Coast Over 35 Soccer Association Inc. All players participating in the Gold Coast Over 35 Soccer Association Inc. are required to sign an acknowledgement that they are individually and personally responsible for his/her provision of personal accident insurance to relieve the club of any responsibility whatsoever should the player become injured, unable to work or incapacitated while participating in activities organised by the Gold Coast Over 35's Soccer Club Inc. Players will have to prove their age with a photo identification. We have a NO PAY NO PAY policy.

What is the fee for Guest Player?
Guest Player fee is $5.00 and has to sign a disclaimer.

Would have you some information regarding your competition?
The object of Gold Coast Over 35 Soccer Association Inc is primarily to provide a social organisation in which players compete on a purely social basis with the criteria to be over the age of 35 years. We emphasise that our main aim is to foster participation and enjoyment of the game and with this in mind we have formed six divisions. Our D Division is mainly for social players who like to enjoy the game for the game's sake. Our C Division is more for the advanced players and our A & B Division is for the more competitive players. The 5th & 6th Division is for the over 45 age group. We play all the year around with the preseason starting in the beginning of January, the first season in February till June and a second season commences in July and continues into December. Players can take about 6 weeks rest from their teams in the winter months and for the ones who can't stop we organise a mid year competition. We play on each Monday and Wednesday, with games commencing at 6.30 p.m.; 7.35p.m.and 8.40 p.m.
