Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok 7-a-side Tournaments, May/June 2013

This year our major overseas tournaments tour / group holiday / drinking excuse is the last weekend of May and the first weekend of June. The��Malaysian Grasshoppers Tournament��(Over 30s and 40s) is 25/26 May,��and BCCT Bangkok Masters (over 35, 40, 45, 50s) is��1/2 June. Both tournaments are 7-a-side, no offside, half size pitch, and extremely hot and humid.��These tournaments are on consecutive weekends allowing us to do a 9-10 day tour. You can also choose to do just one tournament.

If you choose to do one tournament in your life,��I recommend the Bangkok Masters.��Sixty teams, including an EPL Legends team (Ian Rush, Lee Sharpe, Viv Anderson, John��Barnes…).��The event has many opportunities to chat with these legends of English football.

We will stay at the G Tower Hotel in the centre of Kuala Lumpur.��In Bangkok we have a group rate at the��the��Rembrandt Hotel. Both tournaments are very close (about��3 blocks) from the respective hotels.

Costs:

Flights: Budget $600-800 return on��Scoot or Airasia.

Hotels: G Tower, KL = $120 per room night. Rembrandt, Bangkok = $60 per room night. You can twin share cutting the cost of the rooms in half.

Tournament Fees: $220 per player to cover two tournament fees, tour shirts, kit washing, team buses in KL and��Bangkok…. If you are only coming to one tournament then it will be A$150 per player.

Drinking money = $unlimited

There are various ideas of what to do in the week in between tournaments, such as visiting Phuket or Siem Reap, or catching the train from KL to Bangkok (2 days), or going to Vietnam, or just chilling in KL and/or Bangkok. These plans are still being finalised.
